This burger with spinach and fried onions, in a yogurt and ginger-flavored ricotta sauce is suitable as a recipe for both catering and home.

Ingredients for 2 hamburgers:

  • 2 hamburgers
  • 2 burger buns
  • 80g plain Greek yogurt
  • 100g fresh ricotta cheese
  • Scallions
  • Ginger
  • Flour
  • Olive oil
  • Seed oil
  • Salt

 

1. Start preparing the burger sauce. Peel the ginger and clean the scallions, leaving the stem aside. With a mixer create a creamy and dense with plain Greek yogurt, ricotta cheese, scallions and a bit of grated ginger. Add a little spoon of olive oil and mix.

2. Then cook spinach, frozen or fresh. You just have to boil them and then to put them in a pan with olive oil, salt and a bit of grated ginger. Or, if frozen, you can put them in a pan with olive oil and half glass of water, cover and cook them over medium-low heat for few minutes. Also in this case, adjust salt and complete with a bit of grated ginger. Let cool.

3. Now you can prepare the fried scallions. Cut à la julienne the green stem you left aside, sprinkle with a layer of flour and fry the scallions with seed oil mixed with olive oil, to get the perfect flavor and crispness.

4. At this point, all you have to do is to cook the burgers and to warm the bread. For a light and delicate baking bake 200°C frozen or fresh hamburgers, in a baking tin with parchment paper. When burgers will be well colored on the outside, pass them in a well-heated grill and complete cooking according to preference. Meanwhile, warm the burger buns in the oven.

5. Finally, compose your gourmet burger with a first layer of spinach flavored with ginger, then the burger, a layer of ginger-flavored Greek yogurt and ricotta cheese sauce, a second layer of spinach and finally the fried scallions. Decorate externally to make the dish tasty at first glance, and serve the gourmet burgers still hot.
